Geriatric Oncology, and Hospice and Palliative Care

Richard J. Rosenbluth, M.D. is the director of the Division of Supportive Care and Pain Management of the Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center, home to New Jersey’s largest and most comprehensive cancer program. Dr. Rosenbluth, a hematologist/medical oncologist with many years of experience treating patients with cancer and serious blood disorders.

Dr. Rosenbluth is board certified in internal medicine, hematology, oncology, and hospice and palliative care..

Dr. Rosenbluth received his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City. He received a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Rosenbluth, past chief of Hackensack University Medical Center’s Division of Medical Oncology (predecessor to The Cancer Center), is a principal investigator for The Cancer Center’s participation in research projects of The Community Clinical Oncology Project (CCOP). Through CCOP, physicians at major medical centers and community hospitals collaborate with scientists all over the country who are conducting clinical trials supported by the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Rosenbluth is a clinical assistant professor of hematology/oncology at New York University and a member of The Cancer Control and Health Practice Committee for The Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group.
